The Benefits of Practicing With Flat Gloves for Infielders
How to Implement a Flat Glove Training into Your Practice Routine
We love training aids that teach players key skills with little-to-no explanation. That’s exactly what flat gloves do for infielders. A flat glove is something our players can use that doesn’t require extensive explanation or background in how to use it, but can greatly improve our players’ skill sets and overall defensive ability!
You can introduce these gloves into any facet of training from individual work to group or team practices. When your infielders use this glove, it forces them to have soft hands – a key foundational skill for all infielders to master - or else the ball will simply bounce off the glove. Other key benefits include:
Promotes proper fundamentals and fielding mechanics by forcing player to use two hands
Improved quickness and reaction time
Helps with transfer quickness and getting the ball out of the glove faster
Whether you pick up one for yourself or 3-4 of them for the team to use, we would highly recommend implementing flat glove training into your practice routines.
