Meet The Team

Our team is committed to making a positive impact in young athletes and families in the Denver community. Founded in 2006 by Scott Vatter, our team of instructors has dedicated much of their lives to the game through their playing career and into coaching. These passionate instructors coach with integrity to ultimately help us guide our youth baseball and softball players to grow in skills, character, confidence and leadership.

Scott Vatter

Scott Vatter

Founder

  • Scott grew up in Colorado and has been coaching and instructing players for over 30 years. He primarily teaches hitting but can also teach infield. Scott lives in Highlands Ranch and has three daughters.

    Playing Experience: University of Northern Colorado – (4 year starter in the infield, conference MVP 1993 and 1994, set several hitting records) Butte Copper Kings (Rookie ball 1995)

    Coaching Experience: 20 + years high school coaching experience (All levels- Regis Jesuit, Highlands Ranch, Mountain Vista, Gateway). Former Associate scout for Atlanta Braves.

Ty Jacobs

  • Ty is a Colorado native who has been around the game of baseball his whole life. His grandfather played baseball at Oklahoma (OU) and his father played Collegiately/ Professionally so Ty has been around the game since he could pick up a bat. He has coached at almost all levels and has the ability to work with players of any age!

    Playing Experience: Cherokee Trail HS, UNC – Greeley (Played IF and Pitched), Seward County Community College (Middle IF and Pitched), Metro State- (Played MIF and Pitched)

Tony Antolini

Tony Antolini

  • Tony is a native of Colorado and spent thirty four years in public education as a teacher, coach, and athletic administrator. He has a passion for teaching the fundamentals of baseball and fast pitch softball to maximize an individual’s ability to truly enjoy the game. After his collegiate baseball playing career, Tony played competitive fast pitch softball for eight years.

    Over twenty years of high school baseball with Head coaching at Regis and Rangeview High Schools.

    Eleven years of private instruction, camps and clinics.

    Former Recommending Scout for the Cincinnati Reds.

Daron Schulthies

  • Daron has been around baseball his whole life. Originally from California, Daron moved to Colorado in 1996 and attended Heritage High School. He lives with his wife Danielle and has two beautiful daughters Payton and Kynlee. Daron currently works for the Highlands Ranch Metro District and enjoys golfing in his limited spare time. Daron also heads up HitStreak's brand new Fastpitch Organization!

  • Yvette is a social studies teacher and softball coach at Eaglecrest High School. She is married to her husband Matthew and has two daughters, Alex and Kaitlyn. When not coaching or instructing, Yvette enjoys traveling and spending time with her family

Chris Dennis

  • Chris is a Colorado Native, who grew up in Littleton, and graduated from Arapahoe High School in 2004. Chris started playing baseball at the age of 5 and has been around the game for nearly his entire life. He began his coaching career at the age of 22 and has coached levels ranging from college to youth over the last 15 years and has knowledge in all aspects of the game. Chris now lives in Aurora and has an 8 year old son Colby, and a step son Kayden who is currently a junior at Eaglecrest High School.

Ryan Kieckhafer

  • Coach for over 20+ years. Mostly at the youth select level and a few years at the legion level for high school.

    Skills: Great communicator who loves to teach and develop young players. Main focus is on pitching mechanics and mental approach to strengthen both physical and mental game. Offers video breakdown and then specific drills to improve deficiencies. Also available to work with fielding and hitting.

    Highlights: 2020 Nebraska State Champions, 12u AAA. 2020 Millard United “Coach of the Year”

James Shields

  • James is a Colorado native born in Denver, and growing up in Centennial. He played baseball and graduated from Smoky Hill high school before attending the University of Northern Colorado. He currently lives in Centennial with his wife and four children. If they are not on a baseball field, the family loves to travel, ski and root for the Broncos!

Matt McHugh

  • Matt joins HitStreak as a classic ‘Dad Coach.’ Growing up in the Midwest, he focused on football and baseball. An Architect by trade, Matt began coaching his two sons from tee ball into high school and turned it into a family pastime. His oldest son is currently a collegiate catcher. With a focus on catching, he has had wealth experience at the youth level and currently coaches at Regis Jesuit.

Tom Sigrist

  • Tom is a native of Boise, Idaho who came to Colorado in 2015 to pitch at Colorado Christian University. After chasing professional baseball in the independent leagues, he took an assistant coaching position at Green Mountain High School.

Sean Jarrett

Sean Jarrett

  • Colorado-born Sean went from playing high school in the small town of Limon to world-traveling professional pitcher before settling back here in Centennial. His days are spent navigating the fields of finance and real estate, while his evenings are a whirlwind of chasing his three energetic boys, helping develop future major-leaguers, smoking meats and transforming houses one room at a time. If Sean could pick a superpower, he'd choose teleportation - because there's never enough time in the day.

Matt Blackwood

  • Matt grew up in the Highlands Ranch area where he pitched at Highlands Ranch High School before heading off to South Mountain Community College in Arizona. Matt currently teaches and coaches at Rock Canyon high school. Matt enjoys the outdoors and hanging out with his dog Ellie.

Trevor Welling

Trevor Welling

  • Trevor is a Colorado native, born and raised in Parker. He has been playing baseball from the age of 4 until his freshman year of college where he played at Midland University in Nebraska. He has a deep passion for the game itself and its history. Trevor is a recent graduate of Metro State in Denver with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in anthropology. His dream is to work in a Smithsonian institute!. Trevor’s coaching goal is to grow the game of baseball through the young ball players coming up.

Jacob Love

Jacob Love

  • Jacob grew up in Southern California and Colorado, playing and coaching the game of baseball for over 30 years. He currently lives in Parker with his amazing wife and two boys. His free time involves coaching travel teams in ice hockey and baseball. Outside of that, he loves to travel and watch any kind of sporting events. He has been a flight paramedic and firefighter/paramedic for over 15 years.

Ashley Wilson

  • Ashley is from Wichita, Kansas where she played softball at Mulvane High School and was awarded All-League honors for 3 years. She currently resided in Centennial where she works as an occupational therapist to autistic children.

Colin Sweet

  • Born and raised in Colorado, Colin began his baseball career at the age of 5. He attended Regis Jesuit High School for his Freshman and Sophomore years. Following that, he spent his Junior and Senior years at Cherry Creek High School from which he graduated. After high school Colin attended Iowa State University, where he was a walk-on member of the baseball team through the fall. Soon after Iowa State dropped the baseball program, Colin came home to Colorado and began coaching in 2008. Before joining HitStreak he coached youth with the Double Angel program, Slammers, and the Rawlings Team Colorado program.

    He currently lives in Aurora with his wife Alyssa and son Branoch. The three of them enjoy spending as much time in the great outdoors as possible when not attending Branoch's many travel hockey commitments.

Nate Taylor

  • Nate was born and raised in Colorado, and currently lives in the Aurora/Centennial area with his wife and 3 boys. Nate has coached at Eaglecrest High School for 11 years, 8 of which have been spent as a varsity assistant coach. He also teaches social studies at EHS. Nate loves coaching the physical and mental side of the game, but primarily coaches due to his passion of developing boys into honorable young men.

Dylan Jutze

  • Dylan is a Colorado native, born and raised in Highlands Ranch. He was a 3 year varsity starter at Columbine High School before starting his college career at Lamar Community College. After graduating from Lamar, Transferred to D1 University of Arkansas Pine Bluff. He ended his career at Wayne State College in Wayne Nebraska. During his college career, he spent time at Driveline HQ in Seattle training and adopting their philosophy into his playing and coaching career. He graduated with a degree in Marketing, and works in sales.

Elaine Gerou

Elaine Gerou

  • Although Elaine moved from Michigan to Colorado in 2022 to chase her nature and ski filled mountain dreams, playing softball was her first passion that began as soon as she could throw a ball. Softball was truly one of the most fulfilling and fun experiences of Elaine’s life; she strives to share her knowledge with today’s players to help them have experiences as positive as her own.

    College: Concordia University Ann Arbor 2013/2014 & Co-Captain for Schoolcraft College 2015/2016

    Highschool: Plymouth High School 4 year varsity starter, All State Honorable Mention Pitcher 2013, fielded all 8 positions other than catcher in 2013

    9 Years of Travel, including two teams finishing 2nd and 5th in the USSSA Fastpitch World Series in Orlando, FL, Elaine being Offensive MVP in 2010

Gabe Ramos

Gabe Ramos

  • Gabe grew up in Riverside, California where he played high school baseball and started his college career. He has a vast array of knowledge in the aspects of baseball, mental performance and strength and conditioning. He graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and is finishing up His masters in Psychology. He just finished with his position as the Graduate Assistant baseball coach at Colorado Christian University, his alma mater.

Pat Hogarty

  • After 17 years as a teacher and school administrator Pat is returning to his first love, baseball. Baseball has taught him many life lessons that have shaped his life and he is combining his love for baseball and experience in education to help future athletes unleash their potential. Pat brings experience as a player in High School and College, a pitching coach and educator to connect with young athletes and begin unpacking their potential. Giving athletes a solid foundation in mechanics, instructing how to move and control their bodies, and improving mental preparation for pitching are skills he introduces to your athlete and it will also lead to growth and success on and off the field.

Mike Hain HitStreak

Mike Hain

  • Mike grew up playing baseball in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Denver in 1997. Throughout his playing career he was primarily a catcher but also played outfield, Mike has three amazing kids and a passion for coaching. He has been coaching his daughter Emerson since she began playing softball and and is currently coaching one of the HitStreak 14U competitive teams.

Nicole Beckett

  • Nicole, or Coach Cole, calls Colorado home alongside her husband and two kids. During the day she works for the State of Colorado Judicial system after receiving her Master's degree from University of Denver in Forensic Psychology. She believes that you can be a boss in class, as well as on the field.

    Playing Experience:

    College: D1 pitcher at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and later for New Mexico State University.

    High School: A 2007 graduate of Conifer High School lettering all four years. Colorado All-State, 3x All-Conference, 3x team MVP. She played on Colorado Bullets for travel ball and was a Triple Crown Sparkler USA All-Star.
